nice picture you see a skyline of condo's NO office towers filled with jobs and money ,,,you see snow, ice cold weather
The West End is not a cheap place to live, clearly most of the inhabitants of those many high-rise towers have jobs, many of those jobs will be in the Downtown core's many office towers which are just beyond the right hand side of the picture.
As for the snow, it's up on the mountains and adds to our scenic splendor. Now let's consider the temperature on the beach, it's been close to double digits for about two weeks, during which time vast areas of the USA have been fighting wild storms and blizzards. If you had tried to sit on a beach near New York lately you could have been washed away by crashing waves or died of exposure!
The truth is that Tedeastside is not that stupid, the few people who are that stupid are usually in care. His little fits of Vancouver phobia are based on his inability to have found any local employer to pay him the kind of salary which he alone thinks he is worth. His unemployability in Vancouver forced him to leave and his economically imposed exile from this city he loves has damaged him psychologically.
His anti-Vancouver posts are just a salve for his crushed ego and they expose his envy, anger and deep rooted insecurity. It's a bit sad and I hope his life improves soon, perhaps he'll win the lottery and be able to return here. In the meantime it's probably best to let him vent unchallenged, it might be therapeutic for him to try and convince himself that Vancouver is not the wonderful place he remembers
In fond memory of Taipan, a model of modesty, decency, dignity and tolerance. Long may we all prosper from the tremendous legacy of worldly wisdom and specialized real estate knowledge which he left in the "Arguments" thread.
