Re: Foreign money go away.. come again another day...

In addition, I now see realtors and mortgage brokers complaining that they weren't consulted on all these new measures - what an entitled group of asses. They claim that all these new measures will make it less affordable or achievable.  Yes!!! That's the point!  These new rules save idiots from th...

Re: Vancouver indvidual property sales details

What's the difference?  9160 sold for $2.698M back in Feb and 8680 sold for $3M in Aug!   The one that went for less happened in a supposedly hotter market, has bigger sqft/lot size and was also offering an extra $15k commission as well.   http://i.imgur.com/Rq94G62.png http://i.imgur.com/6CoHEKA.p...

Re: Should the government intervene?

More importantly, maybe foreigners does account for more than what some people think. That's why the Realtors are having such a strong reaction - there's enough commissions at stake.

Re: Should the government intervene?

Looks like the Realtors are trying to petition the government... maybe the foreigner effect is bigger than we thought? Send a letter to your MLA and the Premier REBGV is hearing members concern with the BC government's decision to implement the foreign buyer tax, particularly with regard to the impa...

Re: How much to pay realtor?

What matters is the total that came out of Jim's pockets. Actually, the total that's really being split between Jim and the Buyer.

The Middlemen wins.

Re: How much to pay realtor?

Wow so you paid more than $30,000 in commissions, plus she got a nice bonus! That's the price of a decent car. Sounds like you had a good experience though, so it must be worth it to you. Why give her a bonus though, knowing that you would get multiple offers anyways? I can understand if the bonus w...

Re: How much to pay realtor?

A relative will be selliong their house soon in Surrey for $800,000 to $900,000 and we are thinking of talking to several realtors and offereing a straight 2.5% commission for the selling realtor and buying realtor to split. A similar house one block away sold in one week in March 2016 to multiple ...

Thanks. Much Appreciated.
Mind sharing how much you ended up paying? Just curious how low Realtors are willing to go these days.

No, the data is all locked up by the RE industry. If you use a Realtor though, they will email you the info.

Re: How much to pay realtor?

its on a percentage basis because the higher the price of the home the more they make then everyone wins

Getting the sellers a higher sale price doesn't make much difference to the realtor's commissions. For example, netting the sellers an extra $10K will only give the agent an extra $100 bucks.
