Re: Competition keeps home sellers in the Driver Seat

I love it when people are right but their reasoning is flawed... they fool themselves into thinking they are smart. When they aren't.

I've always said I would rather be lucky than smart. Works for ETB

Re: The real estate technique fuelling Vancouver's housing m

The long close was probably because it was the highest bid so yes there's a price. But yes Realtors are getting a pass not informing their clients about assignments. Any RE lawyer would point that out in a flash. But apparently paying $1000 for some legal advice is just too much for a $3million tra...

Re: The real estate technique fuelling Vancouver's housing m

With respect to the "technique" that is getting sellers all bent out of shape, I remember something I learned a long time ago is that "there is no such thing as a free lunch". You want a long close - sure, pay me more for that benefit. You want to assign the contract - great, just need my permission...

Re: The real estate technique fuelling Vancouver's housing m

Oh and for the jealous people out there that 'foreigner' who doesn't live in it pays far more taxes than a Canadian which pays nothing at all when he or she sells their own place. Right - they certainly declare all their income and pay all their taxes. :D  Criminals don't normally pay taxes.

Re: Competition keeps home sellers in the Driver Seat

There isnt a proverbial weapon pointed at the said head making anyone stay. The more modern way is to encourage the door not to strike oneself when leaving I know - it's going to be great. In 5 years this place will be just like China, the place these racist criminals are trying to flee from.... ha...

Re: Competition keeps home sellers in the Driver Seat

Historical norms or fundamentals or whatever... Check put the last page of the rebgv jan/16 stats package and tell me if that last part doesnt look ridiculous (or sustainable). The last part looks like someone was f***ed. Doesn't look like its goingnto stop either - $2m next month? $3m by september?

Re: The real estate technique fuelling Vancouver's housing m

It isn't against the law to assign a contract
Not paying taxes on the assignment is though.

When people move to Canada, they should learn the laws. Or is that too racist for you?

Re: The real estate technique fuelling Vancouver's housing m

So someone bought a home. and? I dont see a problem with it
You don't see a problem with tax avoidance? Maybe we should ask Ozzie to get your details to CRA. If you don't have an issue with other people circumventing taxes, you probably partake in that activity.
