Is it just me or does the new format at MLS.ca suck or am I missing something? :|

I was so frustrated today.

I hate how the actual dots are not exactly where they should be...and I like to scroll through listings.

At least you guys could look at the site. The gobblygoop below is all I get. Can't see how this will help get the market going.

Actually I like many of the new features. It fits my needs better than the old service and apparently there are still ways of doing the old searches.

I was pretty frustrated with it too. I haven't been able to get it to work with the safari web browser, the map never shows up. seems to work with firefox though.

Not only is it clumsy to use, the home page looks too basic and unattractive to me. How did it pass scrutiny?

the IT department is doing it on purpose with crappy work so they can keep their jobs as it needs constant upgrades and tweaking.
usually the new version is crap, followed by upgrades and improvements. i don't blame them...job security may be the new worry in the near future.

I agree, it's very cumbersome. I am not sure it was designed to actually help the consumer at all. I think there is a a more sinister motive behind it. If it is too hard to find what you want then it increases our reliance on the realtors and that only helps them justify their position to be our guides in our search for real estate. just a thought, but maybe this has some truth to it.

I emailed the comment contact and got a very generic letter from Jonathan Baker at crea.ca. and no reply to my repeat follow-up

Perhaps if every one complains they'll go back??!!

To shreddog:

Advanced search does not allow me to search, for example, "lower Lonsdale" ... or am I missing something?

Ixnay on the honesty!

Seriously though, while I have seen a lot of IT projects go that way (cough, IBM global services, cough), I think this is more of a poor scoping and planning problem as much as anything else. It looks like the IT staff were given a badly thought out wishlist of features, tied to Micro$ofts mediocre mapping system, probably for silly marketing reasons, then turned loose.
