Hello RE experts. I've just moved into my new place and have a question.
Part of the building exterior has metal panels. What is the advantage of the metal panels? Cost, durability? Rain screening?
Doesn't the bolts rust etc?
Thanks for your thoughts.
Durable and easy to replace. FYI, the exterior cladding does not determine if your building is rain screened. Rain screen is a wall design detail that allows water to escape from the wall system.
Personally I like hardiplank for exterior cladding on a rain screened wall. Metal panels are fine if designed and installed properly. For metal I like the Keith Panel System on an engineered wall.
Metal is way better than EIFS.
