I guarantee you that not having the heat on will cause mould. GUARANTEE. Especially in Port Alberni where it rains a lot.It is not going to cause mould. Nor is it a problem showing it to prospective tenants due to the longer daylight. For renovations it is a simple thing to tell them to turn it on.
That's not how it works. You are always on the hook as the owner.if hydro was in your name why would you leave the responsibility for turning it off with your tenant?

When the tenant left, they called BC Hydro to say so. BC Hydro started a tab for the owner at that point at $0.don't see it. If the bill is in tenants name it's a matter for bill collector.That's not how it works.
